GHETTS AND SKEPTA GO BACK TO BACK ON ‘IC3’
Highlighted as one of the most influential grime artists in years, you can always be sure to count on Ghetts for quality sounds and bars. Just a few months after the release of his shape-shifting ‘Mozambique’, the veteran is back again with a collaboration that fans have been forever waiting on.
‘IC3’ sees the East London rapper link up with North London legend Skepta and named after the British Police code to identify Black individuals, the MC’s go bar to bar on the best track is best described as a hard-hitting and insightful meeting of minds.
Despite featuring in a few freestyles together since they both emerged in the noughties, the two icons have never joined forces on a track – until today. Whilst this marks their first collab, the pair go way back!
Talking to BBC Radio 1Xtra, Ghetts described the pairing as “Two brothers that have literally come up from the same space” and described the track as a “special moment” where they were able to remove their MC ego’s and discuss different points.
The Ten Billion Dreams produced number will appear on Ghetts’s forthcoming album on Warner Music. Stream and purchase ‘IC3’ on all platforms here.
