Hot on the heels of releasing the track, Donae’O now shares the video for his latest single ‘Lemme Know’,  out now via Island Records.

Starring D Double E and Akelle who feature on the track, the cold visual sees all three artists on a black and white set, stripped back. Directed by Chas AppetiDonae’O , D Double E and Akelle can be seen vibing together in-between shots of cars and back up dancers. This mighty linkup have proven that lockdown is no obstacle for Donae’O to deliver banging beats and music videos.

Since its release, ‘Lemme Know’ has seen support flood in from BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra from the likes of MistaJamDJ TargetSian Anderson and Dotty. Playlisted by Rinse FM, the song has had further support from Capital XtraKiss Fresh and additional spins across BBC Asian NetworkWestside FM, and Reprezent FM.

Underpinned by an enticing concoction of Funky House with Grime, ‘Lemme Know’ commences with Donae’O’s deep, commanding voice announcing the track’s title, which then makes way for D Double E’s instantly recognisable flow and Akelle’s smooth, rhythmic vocal prowess.

A producer, songwriter, rapper and vocalist, Donae’O has been an early adopter of almost all crucial urban movements coming out of the capital – from garage to grime to the UK funky-inspired house that continues to influence today’s charts. More recently, he linked up with Idris Elba and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie to release the Afrobeats-flavoured single ‘Party & Bullshit’, which was followed by ‘Back Down’, a UK Funky-led track that features London drill artist K-TrapKyze and LD.

Often heralded as the greatest grime artist of all time, D Double E first made his name as a member of the Newham Generals alongside fellow East London MC Footsie. He has since collaborated with the likes of Skepta, Dizzee RascalSwindle and Flowdan, as well as releasing his highly anticipated debut album Jackuum! in 2018, becoming one of grime’s most respected figures.

Making up one third of West London R&B collective WSTRN, a group that topped the UK R&B chart with platinum-certified debut single ‘In2’ back in 2015, ‘Lemme Know’ follows Akelle’s freestyle for the Hardest Bars mixtape, released in May.

With strong support building around the record and a strong accompanying visual, ‘Lemme Know’ is bound to be played all summer long.
